Slavnost Cideru (Cider Festival) has, after three years of successful existence, found its place in the calendar of every devout ciderhead.
Foodies, gastrologists and fermenticains know all too well that the weekend of June 15 - 17 is the time when Czech largest cider celebration of the year takes place at Smíchovská náplavka, on the left bank of Vltava river.
That French invention, colonized by the Brits, named cidre and known as cider, will be available in all its shapes, forms, colours and flavours, both from local manufacturers and corporate giants, concentrated in one place by the river, together with satisfied punters, choice delicacies, and brilliant musicians, supported by flocks of hungry long necks, courtesy of local scavenging swans.
Last two years showed that our job is worth doing.The festival enjoys growing popularity among visitors and media. Here is the programme with a little story:
